Olsen Style Inspired

A Pair, A Day:

Healed Suede Booties

Inspiration Monday with Two Birds, had an Olsen as their
inspiration
picture for the day.

I decided to switch up her outfit with a patterned shirt and high waisted
black skirt. I absolutely love her floral skirt and will be adding it to my
thrifting list, but since I won't be doing any shopping of any kind for
another 50 days it is going to have to wait.

My retail ban has actually been liberating. I really enjoy pinning
my wishes on Pinterest all the while remixing my closet and drawers.

A curious realization has begun to settle over me.
My closet has become an actual "Working Closet".
A working closet is that phenomenon where you enter
into it and can easily pull outfits together.

I have struggled in the past with this concept, but
my remix has helped me to realize that I have actually
succeeded in purchasing the perfect items to create a
functional closet. Thrifting all the way to help make
this a reality.

So the question remains....
What about shopping makes it such a rush?

If a rush is what I am seeking...
-The Deal
-The Sale
- The Perfect Item

This will be what I need to focus on next...
What if I don't need to shop anymore?

Tunic (Worn as Shirt): Liberty of London, Goodwill; Skirt: BCBG, TJ Maxx;
Booties: Mossimo; Target; Bracelet: Thrifted; Earrings: Dress Barn

Enjoy!

XOXO,

Julie

  1. Interesting question. What is it about shopping and the urge to buy all the time when I am sure most of us have more than plenty in our closets? I haven't been able to figure that out myself.

You look great though, and your shoes are gorgeous!

  2. Congrats on the working closet revelation. I have to agree with Style Journey above and say that your question definitely intrigues me. If you have everything that you need in your closet? How can anyone justify shopping?

Shoes are great! Compliments the outfit perfectly.

  3. Hmmm, I dunno what it is...
I can often get the same excitement and rush finding things in my own closet as well...BUT a least once or twice a month I LOVE bringing something new into the mix...I could NEVER do a shopping ban..kudos and hats off.
I do however get a lot of my shopping addiction out shopping for clients, so the damage to MY wallet isn't quite as severe as it could be, lol.
    LOVE that blouse. Beautiful.

  6. whoa, how long is your shopping ban exactly if you have 50 days left? i love this outfit, was hoping you'd do inspiration monday for this week.

and .... have you seen the show 'extreme couponing"? you could shop like that... and then donate, so it's shopping but not having a lot laying around? lol

  10. I probably don't need to shop ever again, but it's so challenging to discipline myself with so many pretty things out there.
