I Covet Thy Sister's Style

When: Thursday, June 2

I ADORE this dress!

I coveted it after seeing my sister wearing it. She had purchased it at TJ Maxx and so I never thought I would be able to find it since things sell out so quickly. I lucked out though and not only found one in my size but also on clearance! My favorite aspect of it is the 1960's vibe. The ruffles and oversized buttons remind me of dresses that my mom wore in the 60's.

I ADORE these heels!

Parade of Shoes was a fabulous shoe store that was located near my sister and brother-in-law's first home in Berkely, MI. Unfortunately, they went out of business in 2004. My sister, of course, was the first to purchase these amazing heels, but as soon as I saw them I coveted them as well. Laurie, being the fabulous sister that she is, surprised me with my own pair! My favorite aspect of the heels is not only the fantastic geometric pattern, but the lovely bow on the peep toe.

My only regret is that I didn't purchase them in orange and turquoise as well. At the time I thought that I would never wear such ostentatious heels. Laurie, of course having always had amazing style, did but unfortunately we don't wear the same size shoes.

The bejewled headband is all my own, but Laurie would wear it in a heartbeat!

Enjoy!

XOXO,

Julie

  2. that dress an adorable dress and would look great with a 3/4 sleeve cardigan and a belt around the waist. you could also rock it with bold tights and tall leather equestrian boots and a trench once the weather gets colder. great find. (and i mentioned colder because i just moved to Sydney from North Carolina and it's winter here)

  3. Bug,

I didn't think of the boots, which I have a pair, or the cardigan and belt, which is one of my go to looks! Thanks! Terrific ideas. I am trying to strech my summer clothes into the fall so this will be added to my list of ways to remix my dress.

    Thanks!
