When: Wednesday, August 17
My mom took Otto and Ava for the night last night and Greg and I went out
for the first time in months for a date night.
Since we knew we wouldn't need to get up early, since the kids
would be gone we had all of these grand plans of a crazy fun night out.
Yep, you probably already guessed... we were home by 9:30 pm.
BUT, that doesn't mean that we didn't have a great time and, unlike our
younger selves, could actually afford to live it up a little.
I decided that we would count this as my birthday celebration night.
My birthday isn't until September 11th, but the likelihood of another evening
of the kids being gone isn't likely to happen so that was the night to celebrate.
We started out the night at the The Black Pearl
with Millionaire Mojito, my personal favorite,
and tuna tar tare, which is the best I have ever had.
I am serious, it is truly amazing.
Then we went over to Greg's favorite place to eat,
The Jolly Pumpkin, and had dinner
and a few more lovely drinks.
We ate on the open air deck which was fantastic
considering the evening was one of those
amazingly mild and beautiful Michigan nights.
After dinner I asked Greg to take my pictures on top of the parking structure
and he out did himself. They turned out beyond fantastic, if I do say so myself.
I usually take all of my own pictures using a tripod and the timer on our camera
so I am a bit of a control freak about having my picture taken.
Greg told me to hand him the camera and I could delete any that I didn't like.
Needless to say, I had to apologize to my love
and give him a big thank you kiss:)
The rest of the evening was spent at home watching Inception
and than sleeping in until 10am.
Blissful!
A very Happy Birthday, indeed!
