Smart Phones Aren't That Smart

Since I am still sick I haven't taken any outfit shots since last week. I didn't think you would want to see me in my oh so lovely sweats that are so comfy, but so not cute, so I decided to share a lesson that I had to learn the hard way.

Here Is How It Starts: So,  I love to shop.

I would be lying if I said that I didn't and since I started blogging my shopping has increased in some ways, but decreased in others. I have been doing a really good job of remixing and thrifting which have both, been a lot of fun and a perfect stimulate of creative genius at times.

I know you must be waiting for a but and here it is.

BUT...A hard lesson was to be learned. (dun dun du)

I was using my lovely new, as of February, smart phone to online shop a few weeks ago at ASOS.com, who I should add I adore. Their link is over there to the left if you want to take a look. I love their European style and chic dresses. I discovered them through an article in one fashion magazine or another last fall. The article focused on how ASOS was starting to ship to the USA and that there was away to get all their style using good ole American dollars.

Anywho, I found a few to die for items. They are pictured below...

Fantastic right? I know! Who couldn't resist and well, I didn't. I purchased them on the spot and waited eagerly for them to arrive. YEAH!

UNTIL...I had a charge on my credit card that was, shall we say, A LOT more than I had planned on spending. Pretty much double what I had planned on spending.

My lovely little smart phone with it's lovely little screen and my lovely screaming children who were playing very loudly next to me had distracted me from realizing that I was paying through the ASOS.com British site and not the USA site and therefore I had purchased everything in British pounds not American dollars. With the exchange rate valuing the dollar at less than the pound all of the prices had appeared to be terrific deals. This all made sense since the price did seem a bit low for ASOS, but it still didn't stop the pain of knowing I would be sending everything back when it arrived. BOO HOO HOO.

So my readers do beware and take a lesson from me DON'T online shop using your small screened smart phone with children loudly playing in the room.

P.S. For all of you who are wondering...YES, I did try everything on when it arrived this weekend and (sniff, sniff) it was all as fabulous as I thought it would be.

Oh, well...I really like having money in my bank account better. BUMMER!
