Around The World In 90 Minutes For $15

When: Saturday, May 21

Saturday was a beautiful day finally! I gathered Otto, Ava, my mom, my sister, and my nieces together and off to the zoo we went. I didn't realize that the zoo was having an "Around The World In A Day" event until we arrived. The zoo was extra busy, but I am sure it had a lot to do with the fact that it was actually not raining here for the first time in weeks.

On Wednesday I had make a diaper run to Target and of course I had to take a look at the clearance section. I should be avoiding all extra spending, but I can't seem to help myself some days. I discovered this amazing batik print maxi dress. If you have been following me for awhile you already know that I have a difficult time styling maxi dresses, but after finding this little beauty I think that maybe I just hadn't found the right maxi for me.

I love how my pictures turned out. In the African animal section of the zoo I managed to find this beautiful wall stuck away from anywhere anyone would actually walk past. I am still having a difficult time just snapping pictures in front of a crowd of people without feeling like an idiot. Maybe some day this will change but until then I am enjoying finding the hidden and overlooked places that no one else seems to notice. It actually is exciting to me since those locations become a treasured spot for me to share with all of you.

It was really warm and the kids were tired and crabby to begin with so we actually had to cut our world tour short. It was difficult getting them to leave though because there is a little play stream in the children's zoo. It was so much fun to splash around with them in this dress. I think it is going to become a go-to item for this summer. I am so glad that I got over the sticker shock of paying $15 for it and went ahead and bought it. I am so used to thrifting now that $15 felt really expensive to me. It is amazing how quickly your brain can be reprogrammed to spend less.

Enjoy!

XOXO,

Julie
